Robert G. (Bob) Teeter was born and raised in Detroit, Michigan. After service in the U. S Army Military Police Reserves, he joined the Detroit Police Department, where he graduated first in his class from the Detroit Police Academy. Thereafter, he worked in various precincts and bureaus, and earned a promotion to Sergeant.
Bob completed his Bachelor of Science degree in Police Administration in 1972 from Wayne State University, and received his Juris Doctor degree, cum laude, in 1976 from Wayne State University Law School. As a law student he earned an Outstanding Oral Advocacy Award for First Year Moot Court, two American Jurisprudence Awards, and a Silver Key Scholarship Award.
After graduation from law school, Bob resigned from the Police Department and moved his family to Texas where he worked first for a regional, then for national and international corporations as an in-house staff attorney. He soon earned promotions to Senior Attorney and Senior Counsel. In 2006 he retired from corporate practice and returned to Michigan to open his own independent law practice.
Mr. Teeter is licensed to practice law in Michigan and Texas, and is a member of the State Bar of Michigan, the State Bar of Texas, the Mecosta-Osceola Bar Association, and the Isabella Bar Association. He is also a member of the American Association of Professional Landmen, the Michigan Association of Professional Landmen, and the Michigan Oil & Gas Association, as well as the Mecosta County Area Chamber of Commerce, and the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys.
